Michael Biack

About & Contact

Technical physicist, measurement engineer and hands-on problem solver with many years of industrial experience.

Dipl.-Ing. Michael Biack

I combine technical physics, high-precision 3D metrology and extensive practical experience to make technical problems not only visible, but solvable.

My focus is the systematic analysis of geometry, function and interrelations in machines and plants. The route runs through clean measurement — the goal is always a technically sound and implementable solution.

  • Dipl.-Ing. in technical physics, TU Vienna
  • Over 20 years of experience in machine analysis and machine surveying
  • Project experience in Europe, North and South America and Asia
  • Certified project manager (IPMA), WIFI Vienna
  • German (native), English (business fluent), Spanish (conversational)

Career

Extract from the past twenty years.

Since 2026

PHYSTECH MB — engineering office for technical physics

Self-employed: high-precision 3D laser measurement, metrological analysis and structured problem solving in industrial applications.

2024 – 2025

IMS Nanofabrication — team leader

Leading and coordinating the mechanical assembly teams for column integration of multibeam mask writers at sites in Japan, the USA, Korea and Taiwan through to site acceptance test, including pre-commissioning and optimisation of assembly processes in the cleanroom.

2009 – 2024

Berndorf Band Group — development, project management, surveying

Project development for special-purpose machinery and steel belts, project management of international plant projects and precision surveying with 3D laser trackers. As a physicist also selection, testing and integration of sensors — confocal sensors, bearingless magnetic encoders and laser distance sensors — including the physical assessment of the measuring principles.

2005 – 2009

AMiP Industrial Engineering — engineering & project management

Capital projects in the metalworking industry from planning to acceptance, including site supervision and modernisation of existing machines.
